 Net worth update November 2011

Last month, our Net Worth increased by $692.17, which really seems great compared to this month. :-( This month our Net Worth has decreased by $1,655.60 and it really sucks. Increases in other areas helped to somewhat offset a good amount of our vacation spending, so that’s cool. Hopefully next month will go better.

Emergency Fund: No change. Still sitting at $1,000.00 and that’s good with me.

Savings: Down $653.06. We took out a bit more than expected for our vacation in addition to what we took out of Operation SUV. :-( Still, it could have been way worse.

401KUp $962.02. Finally, the 401k has been barely hanging on the last few months, so it’s really nice to see it going up a bit. :-)

Betterment: Up $15.22. I’d been a little worried about this, so it’s nice to see it rising a bit. I only contributed $10.00 to this in October, so it’s not too bad.

Roth IRA: Up $91.56. Woooo hoooo. I’m really happy about the increase, I need to get this account to at least $1,000.00 before I can really get started. Thanks to your votes, I contributed $50.00 in October. :-)

Pirates Gold: No change. :-( I was hoping my dad would give me some gold dollars for my birthday, but he didn’t. I really hope this doesn’t stay at the same amount for too long. Must get more pirates gold.

Operation SUV: Down $2,618.63. I mentioned this would happen, so I’m not too surprised. We had an amazing vacation together and I’m sorta okay with it, when I’m not thinking about personal finance. It was worth it, but I’m way farther from getting a car. It’s been almost 2 years now since I gave my husband my car after his broke down, he works…I don’t. Freakishly, I’m starting to get used to it—maybe we’ll be okay with 1 car??? Maybe I’m just talking crazy because I’m sad, I don’t know.

Car: Up $408.00. That’s nice to see, even if I don’t understand why. KBB is always jumping around on me, but it’s all good.

Evil Credit Card: Down $139.29. Definitely some great progress. Thanks to your votes, I paid an additional $82.00 this month. :-) I never thought we’d be able to pay it off so quickly when I got this card. Each payment I send off makes me feel a little bit better. Debt sucks.

ouch! I am getting ready to calculate our net worth. I can’t wait! I think this month was a good month. Some unnecessary spending, but not too bad.

Look at it this way–your net worth may have gone down but it’s still positive! And your retirement savings went up, too!

You’re doing a great job regardless of one bad month.

All of us have a bad month. Ours def. reduced this month, but most if them are planned purchases. I did enroll in some un-planned courses this month which shot up our CC bill. Hopefully these courses will be useful.

I always consider any kind of courses/classes a form of self-improvement and find the spending well worth it. Are you taking anything fun, Suba?

I like the way you present this, very easy to read. Thanks for the transparency, and let’s hope our cars appreciate every month.
