This month, I’m making way less goals because I’ve been massively sucking at getting things done. Maybe having less stuff to accomplish will make things easier this month.
Financial Goals:
- Continue contributing $25.00 to our Roth IRA each paycheck.
- Save $1,200.00 in our new House Fund. I would shoot for more, but I don’t know exactly when we’re moving in and that will have a huge impact on the amount we’re able to save.
- Transfer 50% over our Root Income right to savings from each paycheck this month.
Blogging Goals:
- Continue trying to keep up with reciprocating comments, I keep falling behind but eventually get to them.
- Helping others: Tweet at least 40 great posts I find on other blogs.
- Helping others: Retweet at least 10 tweets I like.
- Write and publish my Yakezie member post (this one was added on Sept. 1st). I still haven’t written a guest post (after 2 years), but this is more of a post talking about myself and my blog as a way of introducing myself to the Yakezie members.
Personal Goals:
- Eat oatmeal for breakfast every day, even when I’m not hungry.
- Take measurements of spaces in our new house before we get it. I need to get a fridge, but can’t do so successfully without knowing the space requirements. Plus there’s a few other reasons I need measurements.
- Get some more pictures of the house and yard to use as ‘before’ pictures later on. I want to do this before we move our stuff in.

Please feel free to leave your monthly goals in the comments, then we can see how we all did when the month is over.
Good luck with your September goals!
Thanks Michelle.

I cut down on goals too – setting too many just wasn’t working. Good luck this month

Yeah, I’m hoping that I’ll get back in the swing of things and then I can go back to lots of goals.

Thanks Jefferson, I hope so. I’m not sure how much we’ll actually end up doing to the house, but I’m sure they’ll come in handy.

OK, dumb question. I get the tweet and why you do that. Does retweet mean something already on your twitter page and you just tweet it again. When is it appropriate to do that? So like if I tweet this post, would you retweet that or it needs to be another post, not from yourself? Does that even make sense? Don’t want to break any twitter rules!

Kim, the only dumb questions are the ones that aren’t asked.
Retweeting is when you hit the retweet (or RT) button on somebody else’s tweet to share it with your followers.
So if you did tweet this post, I could then retweet your tweet and my followers would see that you shared my post.
Some people only retweet people’s tweets that are sharing their posts, mostly big bloggers and self-centered ones. 😉
I usually just retweet somebody else’s tweet if it’s funny, useful or I love the post they are sharing.
Stat-wise for Klout, I think having people retweet your tweets is better than mentions—but I could be wrong. Anybody else know???
I’ve actually been considering retweeting the tweets when somebody shares my posts, you know as an added benefit instead of the standard “thanks for sharing” tweets. Still thinking, though.

Those goals sound attainable! I wouldn’t worry too much about the blog ones. The financial ones are far more important. It’s funny, but I eat oatmeal everyday for breakfast too. I think I read that in Men’s Health years ago and made the switch. Good idea getting more photos of your house under construction. We have some of those from before ours was built and we always wish we had taken more / better ones!

I read somewhere a while back that oatmeal was really good for you too, but not in Men’s Health. LOL
Our house isn’t under contruction, is already built (1972), but in case we end up changing stuff, I want to have the before ones.

Good luck on your goals! I hear you about taking measurements–it’s something I will be doing when we move into our new rental place (well, when we look for it). When we moved in here, we didn’t have a lot of stuff (or so we thought) and of course it looks bigger when it’s emptied. Lesson learned!

Thanks BOD. I know, it’s so deceptive how it looks way bigger until you start moving stuff in there. Silly houses.

These goals seem really doable-I definitely think you’ll be able to get there. I appreciate it when a busy blogger like you stops by the site, makes my day. Keep up the good work!

I sure hope so. Awww, it makes my day when people take the time to stop by and comment too.
One of the things I keep telling myself since I started blogging 2 years ago, was that if people actually take the time to read my posts and then go beyond that and leave comments, to never, ever take it for granted and get used to it.
Nobody owes me their time or attention, so I’m always sure to appreciate it, even if I’m not able to reciprocate at the time.
