Nothing really interesting to say about our spending this last week. I saved $3.00 on dog food by printing out a coupon, that’s about it. We did spend a bit more on groceries than I’d planned, but some of that will be coming back to us because of a rebate. Hope your week went good. :-)

  1. We finished the pay period in better shape than I had anticipated.

Thanks for your transparency. I especially like your daily small transfers toward goals. Those add up.

    • Great job, Thad. It’s always nice to do better than think you’ll do. :-) Those small daily transfers help me stay motivated, I’d be lost without them. :-)

  2. i’ve been feeling pretty good about groceries this week since i won a gift card, used a store credit and then did a mystery shop where I get $20 in free groceries as payment. works for me!!

i like seeing how other couples spend because it helps me see how we’re doing, whether we’re spending too much or too little.

    • Wow! That’s pretty impressive Newlyweds on a Budget. Great job keeping your grocery spending low. :-)

  3. I like how you do the small daily savings transfers too. I think that is a great idea. It just seems easier to put aside a couple bucks a day instead of trying to make bigger transfers occasionally. I will have to consider setting something like that up. My only concern would be cluttering my banking history in case I need to later find details for a specific transaction.
