I’m not just referring to the stand-alone ATM machines, I mean all of them. Even the ones at your bank. It’s so easy to just stick your card in and get some money, kind of automatic.
I used to love the wonderful convenience of instant cash, until I realized the truth. People are more prone to overspending and wastefulness with the help of ATMs.
Don’t even get me started on all the fees. I can proudly say that I haven’t used an ATM in over a year. If I need money, I make myself physically go into the bank the old-fashioned way. This makes me more aware of what’s going on with our money. It also helps curb those impulsive cash-only purchases/services etc. Here’s what I did in case you want to try it out:
Step 1: Call your bank and request a PIN change (they should mail it to you)
Step 2: Immediately shred or burn your new PIN before you have a chance to use/memorize it
Step 3: Enjoy the Savings
Telling it like it is. It’s those little adjustments we make in our daily lives thatwill create good habits
Right you are, Paul.
I LIKE THIS POST AS WELL. GOOD IDEAS!
Thanks. Do ATMs seem to be out to get you too?
