Entertainment on a Budget

We all love to entertain ourselves, but sometimes it can get pretty costly. For instance, let’s say that you really love to go golfing. It’s a good, clean sport and you can get some exercise, but it will most likely cost you $20 or more to have your fun. If you do this three times a week for the summer, you could end up with a bill of over $1,000 by the time it’s all said and done. If you are on a tight budget, this may not be the best recreation for you.

Let’s start by thinking up some activities that are incredibly cheap, and typically only have a one-time fee (which is buying the equipment).

1)       Disc Golf
2)      Hiking
3)      Basketball
4)      Tennis
5)      Jogging
6)      Cycling
7)      Swimming
8)      Lifting Weights
9)      Reading
10)    Camping

Alright, there are 10 solid ideas right there, but to be honest, many of these are active sports. If you aren’t the least interested in outdoor recreation, then this list is meaningless to you. The next best thing is to think up activities where you could find a discount – either with a coupon book, or with an online promo code.

1)      Bowling (often have buy one get one)
2)     Dining out (can find a buy one get one with a drink purchase)
3)     Browse Online (for those that like to stay in)
4)     Video Gaming
5)     Head out to the movies (discounts can be found online all over)
6)     Play board games at a friends house
7)     Go for a stroll downtown
8)     Wine tasting
9)     Coffee with friends (can easily find a discount online or from a book)
10)   Driving Range (a bit cheaper than playing the course)

I hope this list helps you a bit. With all of these activities, discounts can be found, and to be honest it makes perfect sense. There are so many venues out there that are for our entertainment and they are all competing against one another. In order to get you into their place of business instead of their neighbor, they will offer you 20% off at the very least! Before you head out for entertainment this weekend, perform a search for a deal and you will soon see what I mean.
