Financial Goals: 5/5 (100%)
#1 Contribute $50.00 to our Roth IRA. PASS (I actually contributed $75.00 this time—woohoo for 3 paycheck months.)
#2 Save $400.00 in our Emergency Fund. This seems extreme based on our income and expenses, but June is a 3 paycheck month for us and after the crazy casino trip—it just needs to happen. PASS (Between our daily transfers and saving, we put around $460 into our Emergency Fund)
#3 Save $100.00 in our Travel Fund. FinCon12 is quickly approaching and we barely have anything saved for food, transportation and entertainment while we’ll be there. PASS
#4 Automatically transfer 50% over our Root Income right to savings at least once this month—this will help me get our Emergency Fund up there quicker. It’s a good habit to get into, even if I only start out with once a month. PASS (I actually did this 2 times in June—woohoo!)
#5 Back-up anything that I don’t want to lose and then cancel my 2nd hosting account with BlueHost and then transfer my domains over to my primary account. PASS
Blogging Goals: 3/4 (75%)
#1 Figure out what’s up with my weird site structure. Jumping in blind a couple of years ago sorta created a huge page/post/link mess that I haven’t wanted to deal with. I need to dig in and figure out a plan to fix it. PASS (It took a while to figure out, but I pieced together a plan. I have a lot of work to do, but already got about 15% of it done. I did better than I planned.)
#2 Do a better job about reciprocating comments. This doesn’t count the blogs with weird and tricky comment forms and impossible captcha. PASS (Yes, much better. I hope everybody is noticing I’m not as crappy about it anymore.)
#3 Helping others: Tweet at least 10 great posts I find on other blogs. PASS (Way more than 10)
#4 Helping others: Retweet at least 10 tweets I like. FAIL (I fell pretty short, I was hoping to work on this the last week of the month, but I lost the internet for a while. Maybe next month.)
Personal Goals: 1/4 (25%)
#1 Lose 8 pounds this month. Last month it pushed me when I aimed high, so I’m hoping for the same this month. FAIL (I really f*cked up—somehow I ended up gaining 3 1/2 pounds. I’m pretty disappointed in myself. I got a lot of great workouts in, but not enough. I ate healthy foods in moderation, but only 80% of the time. The other 20% was apparently bad enough that when combined with not enough exercise, really screwed things up.)
#2 Start using my elliptical at least once a week, so far it’s my only cardio weakness. FAIL (I skipped a week.)
#3 Read 3 or more books this month to stay on track for one of my 2012 goals. FAIL (I only read 1 book in June)
#4 Do something fun this month out of the apartment. PASS (We went for a nice drive twice. I even got to meet a peacock (which I thought was a turkey).)
How did you do on your goals?
Personal goals always end up being the toughest ones to hit as well. Congrats on aceing the financial goals though!
Thanks TM. Hopefully I can do better on the personal goals this month, even though we have a ton going on.
