Coupons & Samples & Checks… oh my! June 2011

I’ve kinda let this build up for a while, but that just makes it more fun. :-) So what all did I get this time? Lets see:

★ I got an umbrella (sounds silly, I know) and a travel-size Aveeno lotion from Recyclebank. I cashed in 200 points for these a few weeks ago and actually forgot about it until the other day when they came. I didn’t see these on there today, but I might have been looking in the wrong place.

★ My newest Best Buy reward came and it was only $10. I’m actually surprised because this one should be from the spending on my statement from last month—we spent more on the card than the first month (the first month we got a $15 reward). I think I might have to give them a call and check into it.

★ From the P&G Brand Sampler program, I received a 3-pack sample of Tampax (sorry guys), a Head & Shoulders sample of shampoo and conditioner and a coupon for $1 off 1 Cheer. The P&G Brand Sampler program lets you request samples/coupons once per quarter and is totally free of course. If you’re interested, you can go sign-up w/ them here.

★ John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo and conditioner sample and a $1 off coupon.

★ Folgers Special Roast coffee sample, I’m pretty sure this is enough for a whole pot of coffee. My Honey loves coffee.

★ Ore-Ida Sweet Potato Fries coupon for a free bag thanks to Kraft First Taste.

★ 5 coupons for a free Tombstone pizza up to $7.01 each. These are from the rebate I did back here and I’m pretty sure these pizzas are normally priced at $6.99 at Fred Meyer. So, I’ll be sure to use them there since w/ the Fred Meyer reward program you still earn points when you use coupons. Since this is a rebate and I record these in my monthly reviews, I will estimate the value at $34.95 by using the regular price.

★ $50 Visa pre-paid gift card from the US Bank START program. This is for reaching Goal 2 (which is after my account reaches $1,000 I have to leave it in there for 12 months and have either a monthly transfer of $5 or more or set-up like a quarter or so for each transaction to transfer to my savings) with my personal savings account. Husband and I also have a joint account and will get 1 more of these for reaching Goal 2 next year. I already used this last Saturday to reduce our grocery bill, normally I keep these around to help with other things, like I did here.

★ Check from Staples for $2.99 for the Scotch Pop-up tape easy rebate I did here. The easy rebate made this item free (I love free stuff) and I’d been wanting to snag one.

★ S’more Luna bar (full-size) with a coupon for 50 cents off. My Safeway will double 4 coupons (not Internet printables anymore) up to 50 cents each with their in-ad doublers, so when Luna bars go on-sale for a buck, I can get another free one. :-)

★ Garnier Fructis shampoo sample and a coupon for $1 off any Garnier Moisturizer or Cleanser.

Note: You might be wondering why I’m putting this on a personal finance blog. I’m doing it because when I get free stuff, we don’t have to go out and buy it. Also, I want you to see that you really can find ways to earn things and get free stuff, that rebates really do come eventually and that you can get some great coupons to save you/your family money. Even if you’re not a crazy coupon person, adding a couple in here and there can still pay off.
