How I Maximize my Credit Card Rewards

All of our credit cards except for one are paid off, thanks to all of our work last year. The only one we are using is the Best Buy Reward Zone MasterCard, which has some nice rewards. I don’t have to use the card at just Best Buy, I can use it anywhere on anything and still rack up the points. We aren’t going over our limit or anything like that, just using it to pay for things like groceries, gas, etc. and then sending in money to pay it off.

Since you can’t always find coupons for everything :-( I save these up to use at Best Buy. They are usually good for 6 months from the date they are printed, so you can save a good amount of them if you use your card often.

Currently I have 4 saved up, 3 $5 ones and 1 $10 one = $25.00. I can use them all at once or use them individually to reduce the cost of something we need/want to buy.

Here’s an example from this week’s Best Buy ad:

Buy Meet the Parents on blu-ray $9.99
Use 1 $5.00 reward certificate
Pay $4.99 for the movie

OR

Buy Bissell carpet cleaner $89.99
Use all reward certificates ($25)
Pay $64.99
