My Goals 4 August 2011

Goals

Lately I’ve been having some issues with procrastination, as well as with not doing something altogether. Personally, I don’t like it and want to get over this weird funk I’m in. Since I’ve been posting my secret financial details here, I’ve felt more accountable and tried harder. So I figured by putting my goals up here, I’d have more inclination not slack on them.

Check out prices that Juicy Couture bags are currently going for on eBay and check out Amazon too (thanks to comments here). This is the 1st step from my action plan and I still haven’t started it yet.

Take some sexy photos of the Juicy bags I want to sell.

Gather all donations, photograph and record amounts to apply toward my donation goal for this year. Then of course have them dropped off where they are needed most in the area.

Contribute $50 in August between our Roth IRA and our Betterment account.

Submit a post to a blog carnival at least once per week.

Do a giveaway for my 1st blogiversary on August 8th (actual date is the 7th, but I’m off on Sunday 😉 ). I’m thinking an Amazon e-gift card or two, those are awesome and there is so much stuff you can get with them.

Get the Evil Credit Card balance under $1,000.

Don’t spend ANY money on eating out, not a cent.

Get back into a routine for doing my Cash Crate toolbar searches, Inbox Dollars toolbar searches and watch more Swagbucks TV. These are all things that help me earn money online but I’ve been slacking on them lately. Must make more money.

 Non Personal Finance Related Goals:

Lose 10 pounds this month. What a cliche! I know, but I’d really like to lose it anyway and if I put it up here I have a better shot at it.

Do something nice for myself, like a pedicure or whatnot. I could really use some princess toes for summer-time.

Take Roxy (our baby puppy) for 4 mile-long walks. This isn’t counting her regular shorter walks.

Why so many goals? One of my favorite quotes is,Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” by Les Brown. Even if I don’t end up achieving all my goals this month, I’ll most likely achieve more than if I only made a couple. :-)

Please feel free to leave your monthly goals in the comments, then we can see how we all did when the month is over. How fun!

  1. I want to lose 10 pounds and finish my book proposal. My weight loss has been stalled lately, even though I’ve been eating really well. I think maybe it’s the Lyrica I take for fibromyalgia, known to cause weight gain, so I stopped taking the Lyrica. Hopefully that will kick start it.

I submitted one book proposal yesterday and I’m on track to finish another one by the end of this month.

    • Mine too has been a bit stalled; I think I’ve hit a plateau. Stupid plateaus! Grrrr. I just need to switch my cardio and that should get the ball rolling again. :-) I remember you had said you’d already published an book about antiques, is this another one about them? I hope we both reach our goals this month, that would be really cool. :-) Good luck on your 2 goals Harriet, I can’t wait until we check back in and see how we did.

  2. Well, the book proposal I submitted this week has been accepted! Yes, it’s about antiques again. Two books in print for me! (Granted, I have a lot of articles in print too.) Now I just need the finish the second proposal, which is a memoir.

    • Congrats on this week’s proposal being accepted! :-) Sounds like you’re doing great and on top of things.
