My Goals 4 March 2012

Goals

Get my Alexa rank under 100,000. As of March 1st, it’s at 123,147, not sure if I’ll make it since I don’t have any control over who uses the Alexa toolbar, but it would be so awesome if I make it.

Contribute $50.00 to our Roth IRA.

Set-up an automatic transfer to save for Christmas 2012.

Replace at least $20.00 of the money I borrowed for FinCon12. I would aim for more, but we have some household items that we’re going to be buying here and there and I’m not sure how the paychecks will be this month.

Have 240 followers on Twitter. As of March 1st, I have 233.

Finally pay off the Evil Credit Card.

Leave at least 6 comments per day (on average), for a monthly total of 186 or more.

Officially launch my new blog. I forgot how much work it takes when starting from scratch, I did have it close to ready but then I wanted a different domain name and I had to start all over again. Even if it’s not perfect, I need to do it this month.

Helping others: Tweet at least 10 great posts I find on other blogs.

Helping others: Retweet at least 10 tweets I like.

Stick to my new blogging schedule even though it’s really weird for me. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and every other Saturday.

Figure out when the automatic renewal happens for my $2 magazine subscriptions and cancel before it happens. I know I wrote the date down somewhere, but I can’t seem to find it.

Personal Goals:

Lose 7 pounds this month.

Get in at least 15 workouts this month.

Read 3 or more books this month to stay on track for one of my 2012 goals.

Drink at least four 16.9 oz bottles of water 25/31 days this month.

Make a grooming appointment for Roxy, her hair (or fur) is way too long and she keeps getting her feet stuck in it. She needs an all-over short cut, sadly those are like 60 bucks.

Please feel free to leave your monthly goals in the comments, then we can see how we all did when the month is over.

    • It’s related to personal finance, but not really the same way this one is. That’s all I can tell you for now since it’s a secret. :-)

  1. I think you’ll make it with your Alexa! I’m shooting for 100K in March, and it’s currently 151. So we’ll see! Good luck on your goals!

  2. 117,498 as we speak! Just go on a commenting blitz… I bet if you can drive a bunch of reciprocal comments (or clicks) you’ll be under 100k soon…

    • It went up from yesterday (116,169), crap. :-( My commenting blitz’s never seem to work, I just did one the other day—but that’s okay. :-)

  3. I love goals! That is pretty intense to read 3 books in one month! I’m excited to finish one…I’ll admit I’ve been slacking at that lately. Ugh!

Good luck on the Alexa! You’re creeping ever closer to that 100k mark! I hope to get under 300k this month!

    • It’s much easier to read more books when I keep the TV off, it always sucks me in—especially SpongeBob. :-) I’ll add you onto my ‘pop over’ list too.

  4. I think you will hit your goal for your Alexa ranking. You are already at 117,000. Just continue doing what you’ve been doing!

  5. Those seem like solid, achievable goals, especially considering how well you did with your February goals!

It’s funny, one of my goals for March is to create a master “task list” and organize my schedule to make sure I get things done to achieve MY goals!

    • Not sure if I can do it 2 months in a row, but I’m sure gonna try. :-) That is pretty funny, Kris. Good luck on your goals.

    • Thanks Pam. :-) At first it felt amazing, I wasn’t feeling the immense pressure anymore and was able to focus on the posts better as well as life. Then, I quickly started sabotaging myself and started another blog—not the one I’d planned, but one I’d been thinking about for months. It is so time consuming; I don’t know why I do these things.

    • Honestly, my time management skills SUCK! I keep trying though, usually I have to pass up other things to get stuff done. It’s on my list to work on this year, so hopefully I’ll improve them. :-)
