2011 Donation Goal Update

One of my financial goals for 2011 was to donate at least $1,000 worth of items. Fortunately, I am a couponer and am able to do so rather inexpensively. So, here’s my first batch of donations for the year. *The Wheat Thins Crunch Stix will be donated to our daughter’s school & the rest will either be taken to a church or a local food-bank-like place.

7 boxes of Wheat Thins Crunch Stix $1.88 each = $13.16

6 boxes of Colgate Total Advanced Care Toothpaste $1.99 each = $11.94

2 bags of Fresh Gourmet croutons $1.00 each = $2.00

13 Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners $2.99 each = $38.87

8 Gillette Men’s Deodorants $2.99 each = $23.92

14 Motrin PM 20 ct. $2.99 each = $41.86

Total for 1st Donation: $131.75

Year-to-Date Donations: $131.75

13.1% of Donation Goal Reached

* I used the actual prices before any coupons or rewards were earned to get an actual value. The actual price paid for all of these items after coupons, etc. was less than $5.00. Helping out others is something that is very important to me, and I wish I could have this much to donate every day. Hopefully I will be able to make my goal of $1,000 this year, and if I am really lucky, exceed it. :-)
