Net Worth Update~ June 2012

 June 2012 Net Worth Update

Just a month full of crap. We screwed up and went to the casino…again. Other areas didn’t fare too well either, I really hate seeing all that red up there. :-(

Emergency Fund: Down $1,057.10. If it weren’t for the daily transfers and transferring some leftovers, this would be even worse. We took money out to go gambling, which was a huge mistake.

Savings: Up $1.00. We took money out of our Puppy Expenses account to cover the cost of the puppy kits. Still, we had our daily transfers to our Christmas fund and had also sent some leftovers to our Travel Fund.

401K: Down $318.31. Finally an area that isn’t really my fault, our stocks are just being weird—I’m sure they pick up again soon.

Betterment: Down $62.09. Stock market again, up and down it goes. Not really in my control since Betterment manages everything for me.

Roth IRA: Up $50.00. Still contributing $50 a month and plan to continue increasing it with time.

Pirates Gold: Up $1.00. My honey rocks! He brought me home a gold dollar the other day. :-)

Car: Up $52.00. Kelly blue book value increased, not sure why.

Liabilities: None Wooo hooo! No debts!

So, how did your Net Worth turn out this month? Have you done it yet???

Net Worth Update~ June 2012 — 8 Comments

  1. Our net worth went down…that was a little frustrating. We did fairly well with our budget but we had a lot of bills due that we had been saving for. Car insurance premium, HOA fees, we get our house sprayed annually for bugs, car repairs…etc…

  2. I can’t say I’ve ever calculated my net worth. I guess I don’t want to face reality of how little I’m worth financially.

It must suck seeing that casino binge on your financial reports. Hopefully that serves as a good reminder to avoid that in the future. That or maybe it will give you the nerve to go put $1000 on Black at the roulette table :)

    • You should figure out your net worth, Jeremy. Even if it’s really awful, you’ll be able to enjoy improving it and see your efforts paying off by having a starting point. Sorry, not meaning to be pushy. :-)

Yep, it blows! I’ve never bet on red or black, I’m more a 35:1 kinda chick. Or I was.

    • Yeah, it goes up and down every month. It doesn’t really matter until we’re actually going to sell it, but it does look silly each month. I love pirate’s gold. :-)
