Pick Your Brain 4 a Minute?

I’ve been thinking about something lately, maybe it’s because I’ve been really busy, I’m not exactly sure. I thought I would check in with the people who actually read my blog and see what you guys/gals think about it first. As you might already know, I normally post Monday-Friday and every other Saturday lately. I’ve been considering taking it down a notch.

Like maybe posting only 3 or 4 days every week and continuing my every other Saturday schedule.

Would you hate me and never come back, or does it really not matter to you how many times I post each week? My brain has been turning into tapioca lately, but I don’t ever want to stop blogging or take another break from it. It just seems like the harder I work, the less I’m actually getting done.

I just wanted to throw that out there and see what you guys thought. Have a great day today. :-)

  1. I think you’re doing a great job Jen, just keep going at it. If you feel burn out then take a break for a week or something. We can’t please everybody. You will always have readers who will understand

    • Thanks Aaron. :-) I’m not sure I feel so burnt out that I need to take a break from blogging, just maybe cut back a little. I took a break in December (family stuff not burn out) and it was awful. I missed blogging the whole time. :-)

  2. That’s a great question! I’ve only been blogging for a short period of time, so I may not be the best person to comment on this.

I initially started my blog with the intent of posting 2 times a week. I’ve bumped that to 3 (during the week) and will start doing a post each Saturday. I don’t think there is anything wrong taking a step back.

I think it gives you more time to focus on LIFE, your job, and it allows you to be more dedicated to the content that you are putting out there.

    • 3 times a week seems to be a magic number for most bloggers, great job on posting 3 times a week. :-)

That’s kinda what I was thinking about, I seem to put a much higher priority on blogging and all the stuff that goes with ahead of everything else. I love blogging, so it’s not exactly a bad thing, but passing up on exercise, errands, household stuff and quality time because I haven’t finished my blogging tasks for the day seems a bit much. 😉

      • I hear ya! I work out 3 mornings a week and still make sure I don’t use any of my evening time with my wife to blog.

It’s all done in the mornings (early) and during the “work day” if I’m not busy. My job is a little different from most, so I’m a little lucky there.

It’s important to find a balance! Good luck!

        • Yep, it definitely sounds like I need some balance. I usually feel like crap unless I work out 5 days per week. :-)

  3. I agree with the folks who have already commented. Cut back a bit and keep your passion for blogging alive. I think it is better to put out high quality, relevant content 2-3 times a week than than to post 5-6 times a week because you feel obligated.

  4. I think you should post when you feel like it and don’t force it. Don’t turn this into a chore. Do what you want to do.
