Yep, that’s right…we’ve just filled up our 3rd account and have (barely) moved on to the 4th and final account. Soon we will have achieved one of our financial goals for 2011; I’m not gonna lie—it’s been pretty hard at times to keep saving. • It’s more of a per 2 dollar thing except for groceries, dining and gas I think—those are supposed to be point per dollar. I think you earn either 1 or 2 points per dollar at Best Buy when you use it. :-)

  1. Im confused as to why you have so many accounts and only 1000 in each? why not one? Or use sub accounts in the ING?

Love best buy rewards, its my favorite store (my bad habit) reward points paid for half my sons laptop awhile back and got me a netbook I needed for niche site software.

    • First why we have so many accounts:

ING- this one’s obviously my favorite bank and the sub accounts rock.

US Bank- this one, my husband got YEARS ago. He has his paycheck direct deposited here and it’s just easier to keep. Also, the people who work at the branch we go to are fabulous.

Credit Union- I’ve had this since I was a teenager and if I close it, I won’t be able to open it again because it was through work. I’m holding out for their awesome CD rates to come back again. One day…

Bank of America- I had signed up with them to take advantage of their ‘Keep the Change’ program. I ended up getting around $175 from the first year. Also, this is the account we have our checks at—which are just for paying rent. I can’t keep the rent money in our US Bank account because my husband will find a way to spend it. He means well.

As for the $1,000 in each account, I figured that we had 4 banks…so why not see if we could save $1,000 in each one. One of the 4 accounts (ING) is our Emergency Fund and the other 3 will eventually be transferred to our Operation SUV account. I’m probably going to be ditching one of the banks soon, so then we’ll be down to 3. :-)
