At the beginning of August, I made some goals to achieve for the month. How did I do?
#1 Check out prices that Juicy Couture bags are currently going for on eBay and check out Amazon. PASS
#2 Take some sexy photos of the Juicy bags I want to sell. N/A– I was able to sell them to a friend before I got to taking the photos. This is actually really great because it saved me time from listing them, money from eBay fees, Pay Pal fees and time/money from not having to ship them.
#3 Gather all donations, photograph and record amounts to apply toward my donation goal for this year. FAIL (just being lazy)
#4 Contribute $50 in August between our Roth IRA and our Betterment account. PASS– I was actually able to contribute $115 total in August, $40 to Betterment and $75 to our Roth IRA.
#5 Submit a post to a blog carnival at least once per week. PASS
#6 Do a giveaway for my 1st blogiversary on August 8th. PASS
#7 Get the Evil Credit Card balance under $1,000. PASS– We were able to get it down to $920.94.
#8 Don’t spend ANY money on eating out, not a cent. FAIL– big @ss fail.
#9 Get back into a routine for doing my Cash Crate toolbar searches, Inbox Dollars toolbar searches and watch more Swagbucks TV. FAIL (didn’t really make much of an effort)
#10 Lose 10 pounds this month. FAIL– I only lost 3 1/2 pounds but it’s still better than nothing.
#11 Do something nice for myself, like a pedicure or whatnot. PASS– I gave myself a pedicure and saved the money.
#12 Take Roxy (our baby puppy) for 4 mile-long walks. FAIL (she was sick for 2 weeks, but I could have easily made up for it)
Not really what I was expecting when I posted these goals last month. At least I got 6 passes and a not applicable—it really could have gone worse. I gotta admit that I didn’t look at my goals everyday, which happens to be somewhat of a deciding factor for most people. I also need to work on doing things whether or not I feel like it, that alone would increase my productivity by like 700%. I guess all I can do it try harder next time.
How did you do on your goals?
Mine were lose ten pounds–FAIL! I lost 7. But I’m going to characterize that as not too big a fail because I was on vacation the last week, drinking wine every day, eating sausage for breakfast and snacking on nuts whenever I felt like it. mmm, it was great!
Second was to finish my book proposal: SORT OF. It’s mostly finished but I put it aside deliberately because I want to look at it with fresh eyes this week.
You lost 7 lbs., that’s twice as much as I lost. GREAT JOB Harriet! Did you have a fun vacation? Putting aside your book proposal is probably a good idea, many writers do that. At least it’s almost done.
