Were the December 2011 Goals Achieved?

It’s time to check back in on the goals I set for December 2011, let’s see how I finished up the year.

#1 Get my Alexa ranking under 115,000- FAIL (Haha, I went the wrong direction with my Alexa rank. :-( I actually did so bad that it was 146,524 on Jan. 1st, which is nowhere near my goal. With Alexa ranking, the lower your number, the better.)

#2 Submit at least 7 posts to blog carnivals- FAIL (I wasn’t even close. I only submitted 2 posts last month, I was away from blogging for 2 weeks, but honestly…I still might not have made it to 7 anyways.)

#3 Close my bank account at Bank of America before December 14th to avoid their ridiculous feesPASS

#4 Decide on what my financial goals for 2012 are going to be- PASS

#5 Have 40 followers on Twitter- PASS (I actually have 44 followers on Twitter now. Thanks a bunch everybody :-) )

#6 Get the Evil Credit Card balance under $400.00- PASS (I was able to get it a few dollars below $400.)

#7 Save at least $25.00 in our Travel Fund- PASS (Yep, exactly $25.00 and that’s it.)

#8 Try to get our new luggage fixed or replaced (2nd attempt)- FAIL (I’m not sure why I think this is going to be so troublesome, if anything, I’ve made it worse by waiting so long. Now, it will probably be difficult; a couple months ago, it could have been really easy.)

#9 Contribute at least $50.00 to our Roth IRAPASS (Exactly $50.00)

#10 Save at least $50.00 this month by using couponsPASS (I ended up saving $80.13 by using coupons in December and I didn’t spend more so that I could use the coupons.)

#11 Try to come up with a good idea for a guest post I can write- FAIL

#12 Find a way to eliminate one of our small expenses- PASS (I had my husband get me 2 ice-cube trays with lids for Christmas(to keep out yucky smells) so that I can start making my own ice instead of paying $1.59 for a bag of it. Plus, there was an in-store coupon to buy 1 and get 1 free.)

#13 Lose 5 pounds this month- PASS (I’m really excited about this one because I lost 8 pounds last month. Happy, happy, joy, joy!)

#14 Take Roxy in to get her yearly shots (2nd attempt)- FAIL (Why? My husband is at work (with our only car) on the 1/2 price shot days, so the only way I can get her in is to get a ride from somebody. But…I have to make an appointment over a week in advance. So getting a ride for over a week later at a certain time is proving to be difficult. I’ll probably just have to pay full price and go on one of my honey’s days off.)

#15 Scan the big pile of stuff I’ve had sitting on my printer for the last 700 years- PASS (It took forever to scan it all but it feels good to be done with it, and now I’ve started a new pile. Why I just can’t seem to scan things right away is beyond me.)

How did you do on your goals?

  1. Congratulations on the weight loss in December. You know those pounds count as double since you lost weight while everyone else was gaining?

  2. #1. Alexa took a nose dive for all of us. I took a month long break too and dropped over 20k.
#11. I am trying to accomplish this too, but failing.
#13. That is awesome. I have put on that much in Dec :(

    • I’ve risen 40k and only took a two week break. It’s nice to know (though it sounds awful, I don’t mean it that way) that I’m not the only person out there. Guest posting comes so naturally to lots of bloggers, I’m sure both of us will eventually come up with a good idea. Lots of people gain during the holidays, it’s only really bad if we don’t take it off…could you imagine gaining 5 to 10 pounds each year, WOW! Happy 2012 Suba. :-)
