My short sabbatical from blogging ended up being much longer than I had anticipated. I figured a couple of weeks would be sufficient and then I could get right back into the swing of things. I wish.
There was so much to do and things just were crazy around here. Now, things have more or less calmed down and are starting to work out…so here I am.
While I’ve been doing some posts and starting to get things in order, it’s going to be a bit of a process before I can be back to where I was before.
I am way behind and it’s going to take a while to catch up, so please bear with me.
Comments
Before, I usually I tried to reply to every comment within 1 or 2 days.
Now, I’m trying to reply to older comments first until I get caught up. When I’m all caught up with comments, then I will be back to replying quicker.
Blogger Reciprocation
Before, when a blogger left a comment on Master the Art of Saving, I would reply, visit their site, read a post, leave a comment if I had something to say and then tweet a post if I thought my twitter followers would like it or benefit from it.
Now, until I’m all caught up with all my blogging stuff, I’ll only be visiting the blogger’s site and throwing a couple of page views their way. It’s not much, but hopefully it will be sufficient enough to help with their Alexa and visits/views to show my appreciation.
Posting Schedule
Before, my blogging schedule was Monday, Wednesday, Friday (weekly spending updates) and every other Saturday (round-up, carnival inclusions and recent posts).
Now, I’m going to try to get back into posting the same, except for the weekly spending updates on Fridays. I’m considering a new direction with the spending updates, don’t worry I’ll still be showing where all of our money goes (I think). I just need to figure out a better way to either present or track it first.
Do you guys even like my weekly “Where Did The Dough Go?” posts?
For my Sublime Saturday Assemblage (bi-weekly round-up, etc.) I’m going to only do the carnival inclusions and recent posts on MTAOS until I actually get enough time to get back into reading lots of posts by other bloggers. I try to include quality content in these round-ups and wouldn’t want to just post whatever, to fill in the space.
Giveaway
I’m hoping to do another giveaway soon because they’re just plain fun. So if you don’t care about the other stuff I’m quacking about (I’m sure most of you won’t), then at least you have a giveaway to look forward to.
Emails
I think I’ve already replied to the most urgent emails I’ve gotten. Thank you all so much for the hundreds of emails you’ve sent my way, I felt so popular. 😉 If I haven’t gotten back to you yet, I just haven’t gotten to it. I’m hoping to be caught up with emails by the end of the month, so please bear with me. If I don’t reply to your email by the end of the month, then it might have been sent to my Spam folder and gotten deleted…feel free to shoot me a new one.
Social Media
If you already follow me, then you know I suck with social media, so you probably won’t notice anything. But since I’m on the subject…
If I’m not following you and you want me to, please don’t follow me and unfollow me over and over. I keep track of this stuff and it just makes you look weird. If I’m not following you, then you probably haven’t caught my attention yet.
Do you interact with me on social media, share my posts, comment on the blog? Those are things that catch my attention because there are so many other bloggers out there. Also, feel free to send me an email and let me know that you exist, that itself is sure to catch my attention.
•••••••
I think that covers most of it. Overall though, I’m trying to get back to normal here and really appreciate you patience, comments and many emails. You guys are awesome.
PS- I’ve gotten a lot of emails asking for me to post more about the before/after with the house and some of the financials. I’m planning to do this, but am having issues with my camera battery and don’t want to buy a new one yet. So those posts are coming, I’m just not sure when yet.
PSS- Could you guys pretend that I posted this on Monday, pretty please. I kinda got my days mixed up. Thanks.

Post as often as you’re comfortable with and that keeps you motivated. If you make it a ‘chore’ you’ll end up doing it that much less. Your readers will stick around, at least the ones that matter
Yeah, it’s never any good when you turn something fun into a chore.

I’ll also chime in to say, yes! I adore the “where did the dough go” segments. Good to have you back, Jen. As Money Beagle stated, your readers will patiently wait for you. I understand that anxiousness of feeling ‘behind’–I skipped one day this week and it felt a wee bit strange.
